WPIAL announced Monday that it is teaming up with Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank to hold its inaugural league-wide food drive from Oct. 11-23.
Schools will be divided into six divisions by enrollment, and the schools tabulating the most “meals” (total between money donated and food collected) in each of those divisions will be announced at the end of October after totals are calculated. Winners will be recognized during the annual WPIAL Sportsmanship Summit on Nov. 17 with a banner for their achievement. Donations can be made in two ways – financial donations and physical food donations.
Knoch will participate beginning next week. People can donate food at the athletic office, and we will set up boxes at events for physical food donations. People can also donate online through the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank (pittsburghfoodbank.org/wpial)
Let's Go, Knoch!
