Knoch's First Indoor Bocce Team Kicks Off Season

There is a new Winter Sport here at Knoch - Unified Indoor Bocce.  This is a unified sport sponsored by Special Olympics PA and includes both students with intellectual disabilities (Athletes) and  students without disabilities (Partners).  We practice twice a week after school and have a total of 3 bocce matches and one championship event at Slippery Rock University at the end of February.  The team won their first match at Hickory 12-1 and 14-1!   If you see the athletes or partners please congratulate them.

With that being said, we have one home match and one only, next Thursday, January 30 at 3:30 p.m. in the KHS Gym. If you are a coach or advisor of a club and could pop in at some point during the match with your students/athletes, that would mean the world to our athletes!  The more of a crowd we can get to cheer these athletes on the better.  If you'd like to make signs, they would love it even more.  The match will last from 3:30 p.m. to approximately 4:30 or 5 p.m.  Our opponent is Butler.  Thanks in advance for any encouragement you can give our team.

Below are the athletes and partners.
